The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a criminal defence lawyer to join our supportive and professional team.

The position is based in our Wagga Wagga office however will require travel to Local Courts throughout the Riverina and South West Slopes.  The successful applicant will work in a collaborative and supported team environment with other Lawyers, paralegals and support staff. 

The successful applicant must be a Legal Practitioner who holds a current Australian Practicing Certificate.  You must have sound technical legal skills, demonstrate a high degree of motivation and empathy and be able to liaise in a professional and approachable manner with clients.  The successful applicant must be results-driven with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

PARALEGAL/SENIOR SECRETARY – FAMILY LAW – WAGGA OFFICE – FULL TIME

Are you interested in being part of our busy legal support team at Commins Hendriks Solicitors?  Our Wagga Wagga office has a position vacant for a Paralegal/Senior Secretary working in the Family Law Department.  We are a small team who will value your contribution.  Duties will include working closely with a Solicitor Director in the management of family law files, dealing with clients’ enquiries by telephone and email, liaising with Barristers and other professionals, and drafting documentation.

ABOUT YOU

Ideally, the successful candidate would demonstrate a high degree of motivation and empathy and be able to liaise in a professional and approachable manner with clients. Legal experience or experience working in an administrative role in a professional environment would be highly desirable.

•    High standard telephone, client services and problem solving skills.
•    Excellent (fast and accurate) typing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
•    High quality letter drafting and electronic diary management skills.
•    Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.

•    Possess a strong work ethic.
•    Have the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
•    Possess the necessary skills to work as part of a team as well as independently when required.
