Succession Planning

The aim of succession planning is to maintain, develop and improve existing structures such as farming businesses and other small business.

The Commins Hendriks Succession Planning practice developed with a strong rural focus. Bill Thompson was instrumental in the early changes to stamp duty which meant that farming families could transfer land without incurring significant stamp duty. This proved to be a catalyst to many families being able to afford to put their succession plan into effect.

A Will is not a succession plan. Succession Planning is about a change of ownership and control in a business. It needs to take into account the retirement plans of the older generation and the feasibility and practicality of putting the plan into effect.

The Succession Planning practice at Commins Hendriks now boast significant practical experience with all types of business and consideration of a wide range of issues. We work co-operatively with your accountant and other business advisors.
