FREE Legal Clinics
FREE SATURDAY MORNING LEGAL CLINICS
A COMMUNITY initiative offering Wagga's first free legal clinics to the
public has been an overwhelming success.
Commins Hendriks law firm will continue to conduct its free clinics on
Saturday mornings throughout August after the success of last weekend's
initial consultations.
The free legal clinics offer people the chance to speak to a local lawyer
in a confidential and informal environment about personal or business legal
issues.
"It's an opportunity to touch bases and be guided about any legal issue
people may have," Commins Hendriks chief executive officer Phillip McIntosh
said.
"The free clinics are about offering a service where people can walk in
off the street, without booking, and speak to one of our professionals
about legal problems.
"It's a fantastic community initiative which is a first for this city. Our
firm is pleased to be able to pick up and run with a concept not seen in
Wagga before."
The first legal clinic was conducted last Saturday and was well supported.
Mr McIntosh said several people took the opportunity to run their legal
issue past one of the Commins Hendriks lawyers.
"Our people dealt with a variety of legal issues - business and personal -
and people were generally appreciative of the free service available to
them," Mr McIntosh said.
The clinics will run on Saturdays between 9am and 11am at the Commins
Hendriks offices in Gurwood Street, Wagga.
